Before recruiting
- Read the displayed price and any recruit odds.
- Check available crew slots and how a new recruit would fit.
- Compare a recruitment attempt with improving an existing unit.
- Avoid treating a random outcome as a guaranteed upgrade.
If odds are shown, record them with the recruitment pool and date. Odds from a different pool or an older update may not apply.
Compare equipment in context

Compare the increase over your current item. If an item replaces something you already use, its full listed stat is not the same as your net improvement.
Use a simple upgrade comparison
Record the cost, before-and-after stats, and the activity you want to improve. “Cost per additional stat point” can help compare similar upgrades, but different stats are not interchangeable.
When testing combat, keep the opponent and other equipment as consistent as possible. A single win or loss is not enough to rank every recruit.

This guide does not publish an untested universal ranking. A useful ranking needs current unit data, a stated game mode, and an explanation of availability and cost.
